July this great article proposes a fresh reading of Collodi's classic tale from Horkheimer and Adorno and some other heroes. July not only writes well but revisit the issue of social control the child in an irregular situation in this remarkable story that allows many readings. I remember Paul Auster in The Invention of Solitude where he draws a parallel between the Disney version of Collodi.
